Deaths relating to smoking are estimated at about two million a year wordwide, and 100,000 a year in Britain.   Smoking is the biggest risk factor for having a heart attack.   The reason for the effect of smoking on the heart and it's circulation is connected to nicotine and carbon monoxide causing the heart to beat faster, while at the same time narrowing the arteries
